Software Quality Engineer

Setup: Freelance (Daily Rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)

Location: The Hague (1-3 days a week)

Our client is seeking a Software Quality Engineer with strong experience in data-centric testing environments to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of large-scale data platforms, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end testing across data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows.
• Validate ETL processes, Big Data solutions, and BI/reporting outputs.
• Design and execute manual test cases, data validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Develop and maintain SQL-based validation routines and quality assurance frameworks.
• Support testing activities within Azure-based data ecosystems, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake environments.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business stakeholders, and development teams to manage the full test lifecycle.
• Track defects, test execution, and delivery progress using Azure DevOps.
• Identify quality risks proactively and ensure timely mitigation.
