Delft Circuits is a young high tech scale up (40+ people) operating in the quantum market. We focus on one of the main bottlenecks in scaling up quantum computing: high frequency cabling for cryogenic environments. For this we realized a radically different product from coaxial cabling: flexible superconducting circuits with integrated signal filtering components. We design, develop, manufacture and test all products in our factory here in Delft, located at Kabeldistrict (Schieweg 15a, right next to Delft Campus). We are offering internships specifically for:- Master students Applied Physics & Material Science- Preferably done with master thesis- Interested in working the quantum industry What we offer:- Research oriented industrial internships- Various projects available to what suits you best- Young high tech environment- Tag along with all various meetings to see what you can do with an AP master- 500E/month We have experience with over two dozen internship projects counting for the AP Research & Development Master track and various contacts with professors at the TU Delft for internship supervision from the university. At the moment we have the following project available:Internship: Superconducting Thin Films for Cryogenic InterconnectsQuantum computers need wiring that carries signals from room temperature down to millikelvin without adding heat or noise. At Delft Circuits we build the flexible cryogenic interconnects that make this possible, and you’ll work on the superconducting layer at the heart of them. In this internship you will:- Deposit superconducting thin films and characterize their quality- Pattern them into signal traces using photolithography in our cleanroom- Measure critical current, transition temperature and RF/DC performance at cryogenic temperatures- Feed your results back into the process to improve yield and performance You’ll leave with hands-on experience across the full thin-film chain: deposition, lithography, metrology and cryogenic measurement, in a company shipping hardware to quantum labs worldwide. Who we’re looking for: BSc/MSc students in Applied Physics, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or similar. Cleanroom or cryogenic experience is a plus, curiosity is essential. If you are interested: send your resume to: work+internship@delft-circuits.com. When we see a possible match, we’ll schedule an interview and if we are both aligned and enthusiastic: we will propose three projects for you to pick from. Pick a project, we will help get the paperwork in order -> start the internship!
